| Wed Jan 10, 2007 Mediterranean Announces Final Drill Results At Tac Reports Additional Significant Intercepts
|
| Vancouver, B.C., January 10, 2007 - Mediterranean Resources Ltd. (TSX-V: MNR) (the "Company") today announced final drill results from the Karsibayir, T-6 Valley and Ugur mineralized zones on the Tac gold property now 100% owned by the Company.
Significant gold intersections returned from diamond drill holes drilled in the Karsibayir, T-6 Valley and Ugur zones. Notable among the results is Hole TD-93, which intersected a near surface interval of 24.5 metres grading 6.99 g/t Au including some very high grade gold zones returning 35.99 g/t Au over 2.9 metres, 68.7 g/t Au over 0.4 metres and 52.50 g/t Au over 0.7 metres. TD-93 is located on Karsibayir and was drilled to a depth of 253 metres on a -60 degree dip angle approximately 100 metres below and 220 metres along strike southeast of TD-98 which, in turn, was drilled 50 metres below and another 150 metres along strike and southeast of TD-95 located on Karsibayir hilltop.
TD-95 and TD-98 were drilled vertically to depths of 323 metres and 230 metres respectively. TD-95 also showed the presence of very high grade narrow fault related zones that returned up to 171.0 g/t Au over 0.2 metres and 63.1 g/t Au over 0.2 metres. TD-98 intersected an interval of 23.6 metres grading 1.45 g/t Au including several narrow high grade zones up to 31.1 g/t Au over 0.2 metres.
The results from the Karsibayir, T-6 Valley and Ugur mineralized zones continue to reveal the extent and continuity of high grade mineralization along a one kilometre strike length determined in the 2006 drill program.
Peter Guest, Mediterranean President and CEO said, "These final assays are a positive conclusion to our 15,000 metre drilling campaign in 2006. By establishing an overall strike length of 1.5 kilometers, we have exceeded our expectations and anticipate a positive impact from the inclusion of these results in our soon forthcoming NI 43-101 compliant resource calculation."
Please see the table below for detailed results and use the following http://www.medresources.ca/s/Maps.asp for a map of the Tac project area showing the mineralized gold zones and drill hole locations.

Mediterranean Resources is focused on an emerging mineral region in north-eastern Turkey, where it is developing two advanced exploration stage gold properties, Tac and Corak, that are held by the Company as announced January 4, 2007.
Dr. Peter Guest is the qualified person who has reviewed the data in this news release. The ALS Chemex Vancouver laboratory has performed all gold and multi-element analyses using standard fire assay and atomic absorption methods. True widths of the narrow high grade veins are indeterminable at this stage.
