Mediterranean Announces Additional Significant Drill Results At Tac

Vancouver, B.C., December 20, 2006 - Mediterranean Resources Ltd. (TSX-V: MNR) (the "Company") today announced further drill results from the Karsibayir and T-6 Valley mineralized zones on the Tac gold property held under option from Teck Cominco Limited's Turkish subsidiary (TCAM).

Significant gold intersections have again been returned from two diamond drill holes, TD-90, drilled vertically to a depth of 233 metres on the Karsibayir hilltop, and TD-97, drilled to a depth of 251 metres in the T-6 Valley zone. TD-90 intersected a near surface interval of 44 metres grading 8.81 g/t Au including a very high grade narrow fault related zone returning 569.0 g/t Au over 0.6 metres. Other bonanza type gold values include 12.6 g/t Au over 0.2 metres, 9.77 g/t Au over 0.7 metres, 18.8 g/t Au over 1.1 metres and 51.9 g/t Au over 0.3 metres. TD-97 intersected an interval of 39.4 metres grading 2.07 g/t Au including several narrow high grade zones up to 84.5 g/t Au over 0.3 metres. These results continue to show that this deposit is amenable to either open pit or underground mining.

Peter Guest, Mediterranean President and CEO said, "As we start to receive the final assay results from our major drilling campaign at Tac, we can firmly say that results have consistently exceeded our expectations. These recent results, at relatively shallow depths, show that Tac is an evolving story that continues to reveal further areas of interest. These results help to bring 2006 to a very satisfying close and their inclusion in our new resource calculation in early 2007 will provide a powerful start to 2007."

Assay results from approximately 2,300 metres of drilling in 9 drill holes are pending. These remaining assay results are expected by the end of December 2006 and will continue to be released as they become available.

Please see the table below for detailed results and use the following http://www.medresources.ca/s/Maps.asp for a map of the Tac project area showing the mineralized gold zones and drill hole locations.
